About Me
I’m Kyle. Business advisor with a passion for internal audit and risk management; over 17 years of experience.
A strategic advisor helping companies manage risk and compliance requirements, navigate change and implement control programs.
Why Internal audit?
Like all accounting majors, I started my career in public accounting performing financial statement audits and reviews. My career’s strong foundation is due to the excellent managers and coaches at the firm. I experienced two fantastic, busy years but realized it wasn’t my forever home. External auditing was essential to my career, but I wanted to add more VALUE to the business.
Thus began my journey through many different finance, accounting, and operational roles over the next 13 years, each of which provided me with significant professional growth and unique perspectives. Ultimately, I found internal auditing and risk management the most rewarding.
I consider myself lucky because I’m great at what I love doing. I love solving problems, helping people, and learning new things. This love is evident in my daily interactions with clients, coworkers, mentors, and mentees. Let’s have some fun!
What am I best at?
Process documentation
I’m a process documentation nerd. Delivering a beautiful flowchart to executives and watching their eyes light up is euphoric. I’ve yet to encounter a process for which I’m not able to document via flowchart. Try me.
Emotional Intelligence
Technical expertise is valuable in consulting and auditing, but it’s the soft skills that truly set you apart. As an auditor, I often find myself juggling multiple roles: traffic controller, tightrope walker, and counselor all rolled into one. The key to success is the ability to effectively manage the project and navigate stakeholder emotions. I am proud to say that I have earned a reputation as an approachable, respectful, and trustworthy professional.

Simplifying decision-making! I excel at breaking down complex processes and translating them into clear, concise insights, empowering leadership to make informed decisions with confidence.

I love learning. I don’t know everything, but I want to… lucky for me, today’s resources are infinite. I have an honorary Ph.D. in Google, YouTube, and LinkedIn Learning. Give me some time, and I can figure almost anything out. Example – I learned WordPress from YouTube to build this site.
